Overview
The classic tapered pot, with the warm hand-thrown look of aged terracotta. The finish is textured rather than polished, so it reads as pottery rather than moulded composite — and it comes in two very different moods: Biscotti, a soft sand tone that disappears into limestone and render, and Espresso, a deep coffee brown that makes foliage jump.
Crafted from a fibre-clay composite — magnesium chloride reinforced with fibreglass — it's UV-stable and weatherproof, and far lighter than the terracotta it resembles. Real terracotta at this size would be a two-person lift and would spall in a frost; this won't. A drainage plug is included, so you can plant directly or use it as a cache pot.
Choose Your Size
- Small — 9 L: 25 × 27 cm (W × H). Opening 19 cm — fits a plant up to a 140 mm nursery pot. Around 1 bag of potting mix to fill.
- Medium — 25 L: 35 × 37 cm (W × H). Opening 28 cm — fits a plant up to a 250 mm nursery pot. Around 1 bag of potting mix to fill.
- Large — 54 L: 45 × 47 cm (W × H). Opening 38 cm — fits a plant up to a 300 mm nursery pot. Around 2 bags of potting mix to fill.
- Extra Large — 98 L: 55 × 57 cm (W × H). Opening 47 cm — fits a plant up to a 400 mm nursery pot. Around 3–4 bags of potting mix to fill.
Every size is a little taller than it is wide, which gives roots more depth than a bowl of the same width — worth knowing if you're planting a citrus or an olive that will stay put for years.

Sealing & Care
Fibre-clay is naturally porous, so it is worth brushing a pot and ornamental sealer around the inside of the pot before you plant. It forms a waterproof barrier that stops moisture and fertiliser salts wicking out through the wall — the cause of the pale tide marks and chalky white bloom you see on older pots — and it adds years to the life of the pot.
Sealers are water-based and brush on like paint; most hardware stores carry one. Coat the inside walls and the base, let it cure as directed, then plant as normal. It is worth the extra half hour on any pot going indoors, onto a deck, or onto paving where a damp ring would show — and together with the drainage plug supplied, it is what lets you use these inside without marking the floor.

Why You'll Love It
Some pots are of a moment; this one isn't. An olive or a citrus in a Tuscany looks like it was planted a decade ago, which is exactly the effect most gardens are missing.
