Sienna Terrazzo Planter Pot

Material: Fibre-clay composite (magnesium chloride & fibreglass)
Finish: Terrazzo, in Graphite
Range: Four sizes, single colourway
Best For: Rosette succulents, Beschorneria, strappy foliage & seasonal colour
Use: Indoor & outdoor
Warranty: 12 months

Overview

Soft where the rest of the range is angular. The Sienna's rounded, egg-shaped body swells gently from a narrow base to a broad shoulder, which makes it the easy one to place — it sits happily beside faceted pots, against curved render, or on its own in a corner that needs softening.

Crafted from a fibre-clay composite — magnesium chloride reinforced with fibreglass — the Sienna is UV-stable and weatherproof, yet remarkably lightweight. The Graphite terrazzo is a mid-grey with a fine pale speckle that reads as stone from a distance and reveals itself up close. A drainage plug is included, so you can plant directly or use it as a cache pot.

Choose Your Size

  • Small — 7 L: 25 × 21 cm (W × H). Opening 18 cm — fits a plant up to a 140 mm nursery pot. Around 1 bag of potting mix to fill.
  • Medium — 22 L: 36 × 30 cm (W × H). Opening 27 cm — fits a plant up to a 200 mm nursery pot. Around 1 bag of potting mix to fill.
  • Large — 45 L: 45 × 39 cm (W × H). Opening 35 cm — fits a plant up to a 300 mm nursery pot. Around 2 bags of potting mix to fill.
  • Extra Large — 79 L: 55 × 46 cm (W × H). Opening 44 cm — fits a plant up to a 400 mm nursery pot. Around 3 bags of potting mix to fill.

The Sienna is the most generously-mouthed shape in the range — the opening is close to the full width, so a wide root ball drops straight in. Choose by the opening if you're matching an existing plant.

Sealing & Care

Fibre-clay is naturally porous, so it is worth brushing a pot and ornamental sealer around the inside of the pot before you plant. It forms a waterproof barrier that stops moisture and fertiliser salts wicking out through the wall — the cause of the pale tide marks and chalky white bloom you see on older pots — and it adds years to the life of the pot.

Sealers are water-based and brush on like paint; most hardware stores carry one. Coat the inside walls and the base, let it cure as directed, then plant as normal. It is worth the extra half hour on any pot going indoors, onto a deck, or onto paving where a damp ring would show — and together with the drainage plug supplied, it is what lets you use these inside without marking the floor.

Complete the Look

Pair your Sienna with a matching plant from our range and a bag of premium potting mix — check the size guide above for the plant size that fits and how much mix you'll need.

Why You'll Love It

Four sizes of the same soft shape is a whole garden's worth of coherence from one decision. Group three on a step, or run all four down a path, and the repetition does the design work — no two plants need to match.
