Overview

A perfect circle of weathering steel, 80 cm across, that turns a patch of lawn or a bare corner of the garden into a defined bed in a few minutes. It arrives boxed as four pre-formed curved sections that join by hand with the supplied steel wedges and sliders and close up virtually seamlessly — no bending, cutting or measuring on site, and no extra bracing: everything you need is in the box.

Weathering steel develops a deep rust-brown patina outdoors and then stabilises; that patina is the finish, and it sits beautifully against foliage, gravel and timber.

Choose Your Height

  • 240 mm: A low ring for edging — around a feature tree, a bed of groundcovers, succulents or herbs, or a defined circle in a gravel garden. Holds roughly 121 L of soil.
  • 400 mm: A proper raised bed, deep enough for vegetables and less bending to tend. Holds roughly 201 L of soil.
  • 560 mm: A tall planter at a comfortable working height — easiest on the back, and deep enough for small trees, citrus or a serious vegie bed. Holds roughly 281 L of soil.

Key Features

  • Perfect circle, no fabrication: Four precision pre-curved pieces, join set included
  • 2 mm weathering steel: A natural rust patina that protects the steel beneath
  • Rolled top edge: A smooth, rounded rim, safer around children and pets
  • Self-standing: A supporting foot means no spikes or stakes, on hard, rocky or sandy ground alike
  • Open base: Set into soil or lawn, so roots run straight down into the ground below
  • Clean lines: A crisp steel edge that holds its shape where timber sleepers bow and rot

Installation & Care

Choose a level spot, stand the four sections in a circle and tap the wedges and sliders home — all you need is a pair of gloves and a hammer, and no stakes or bracing. Set it into a garden bed or lawn, bedding the bottom edge in slightly. Fill with a good-quality garden soil or raised-bed mix and plant.

The steel arrives dark, almost black, with a light protective coating. Once it is installed, wash it with warm soapy water to remove that coating and the patina will develop evenly — this takes a few weeks to months depending on the weather. Weathering steel sheds rust-coloured run-off, especially early on, and it stains stone, concrete and pavers — so install the ring in soil or lawn, not on or right beside hard surfaces. Wear gloves when assembling.

Why You'll Love It

It is the quickest way to give a garden a designed look: one circle of steel, filled and planted, and a corner that was just lawn becomes a feature.
